Aladdin’s Castle: Chambersburg Mall

You are here:

South‑central Pennsylvania’s Chambersburg Mall didn’t open until 1982, but its Aladdin’s Castle quickly drew players from as far as Hagerstown. The KLOV directory pegs the branch at 3055 Black Gap Road; ex‑staff in a 2006 Facebook thread recall Namco’s “gondola” redemption counter and the arrival of Dance Dance Revolution, which extended the castle’s life well into the 2000s.

A 2015 Flickr photo captures the boarded‑up storefront—turret moulding still intact—after the arcade was rebranded “Family Fun Center” and later vacated. The mall itself limped along until closing entirely in 2023, making the Castle one of many ghosts in a Crown American property now slated for redevelopment.
