The notion of a nerd sanctuary that brought together a range of rad 1980's gaming into a singular concept, powered by an authentic and passionate staff, was the core of Tokens & Tankards. T&T (as its fans called it) was an authentic shrine to the thrills of decades past, with branding that nodded strongly to Dungeons & Dragons, Conan the Barbarian and the high fantasy of the late 70's and 80's. There were 20 mostly local drafts on rotation at any given time, along with an inspired food menu that evoked elements of British and Belgian pub fare. The customers who "got it", loved the place. And even those who didn't, often discovered a newfound appreciation for arcade and/or tabletop gaming here. It was across the street from Games Plus, a local game store with heritage going back into the 1980's. T&T was often a hangout for gamers pre- and post-gaming sessions across the way. T&T opened and closed in 2016.
